Happy Birthday to Us

This is fucking hilarious from the amazingly talented artist, Shannon LeClerc. I would never hurt dear, lovely Eli, but the man does look good splattered in blood. Thank you for this - you've made a pair of very insane girls very happy.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! 29 on the 29th ;)

Masters FX & Twisted Twins like to Monster Party!

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"” - Robin Williams
The same can be said of monsters - monster makers and horror folks coming together can only mean a few things: very interesting people, total film nerds, and a shit ton of fun. So, essentially there is no other way to end Monsterpalooza without a big fucking stupid rad awesome party. That party was Wrapalooza and the Twisted Twins were lucky as hell to be given he generous opportunity to cohost with Masters FX.

That name sound familiar? Well, it ought to - not only are they the brilliant team behind the effects in upcoming AMERICAN MARY, they are the people behind a fuckload of other great works that include - SIX FEET UNDER, TRUE BLOOD, UNDERWORLD, SLITHER, SUPER, and TURISTAS - just to name a few.

I must admit, not that I feel I give the impression of being cool but to fully clarify, I geeked out at this event. Hard. Jen and I fell in love with horror films because of the monsters and the talented artists behind them. I mean, holy fucking shit, Dick Smith was there - that man changed the world of prosthetics like no one else.

If you didn't make it to Monsterpalooza or Wrapalooza, then these pics (click this highlighted part) are the next best thing to actually being there, ENJOY!! Also, there is Son of Monsterpalooza coming up in October. A little bird told me that event is going to be fucking epic. If you trust little birds and all that shit.

Monsterpalooza - Where the Creatures from Under Your Bed Come & Hang Out

Monsterpalooza is a convention that focuses on the art of monster making. The history of cinema has been filled with creatures that burn their existences into our minds but quite often the talented artists behind these creature creations go unknown - which is fucking ridiculous. Luckily, many members of the horror community are well versed in their monster makers and prosthetic geniuses, but for those late to the party and those want to emerse themselves in all that creepy goodness is this convention. It is a must see for all horror nerds - from basement dweller to chic geek.

This was our first Monsterpalooza and what a fucking rad time it was. Firstly, a huge and extremely humble thank you to everyone who came out to the Convention and were kind enough to say hi to me, Jen, and our AMERICAN MARY team - Tristan Risk, Amelia Smart, Todd Masters, and some more wicked members of the Masters FX crew! It was very cool to meet you guys in the flesh and get a chance to chat. It was an amazing experience.

There was a lot of awesome had, but here are some highlights - getting to meet you folks who have been so kind to us and supportive of our work in real life, meeting Dick Smith, meeting John Landis, almost meeting Max Landis (it was so fucking close), watching the FRIGHT NIGHT panel, watching the AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON panel, and sucking ass at 1920s-40s monster trivia (like a lot but I think I won some love with my stupidity).

Hope to see you guys next year - sorry to those of you we missed, we'll catch you at Comic Con or Son of Monsterpalooza!

Twisted Twins and Tristan Risk by Shimona Henry

We Twisted Twins had the opportunity to shoot with one of the to die for stars of AMERICAN MARY, Tristan Risk (aka Beatress Johnson). The shots are phenomenal and by the ridiculously talented Shimona Henry who has to be one of the top photographers that we have ever shot with... and we cannot wait to shoot with again!!

These shots are to celebrate and promote the fact that the three of us will be appearing for the first time all together at Monsterpalooza, April 13 at 6:00pm until April 15 at 6:00pm, at The Marriott Burbank Convention Center, 2500 Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA. We hope to see you all there!! It is a NOT TO BE MISSED Convention chalk full of Monster Makers, Monsters, and Horror Royalty.

Das Dead Hooker is Good, Ya?

Do you speak German? Yes? Wicked then you won't need this translator to help you read this. HorrorPilot was kind enough to look in their trunk and take a look at our Canuxploitation flick, DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and here's a little chunk of what they had to say --

I know hookers get around (I know, obvious joke - I'm very tired, forgive me) but to have seen our flick travel around the world to so many places to have a fucking wicked awesome review in German - thank you to Cat la Belle for taking the time to check out the film and sending me the review - is a very cool thing. Read the whole piece here.

Our greatest ambition in making this film was that people would watch it and enjoy it - and we have received that in abundance. Thank you for your support to everyone who have brought DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK into their lives and shared that HOOKER with others.

Dead Hooker Dubstep

I remember first hearing about dubstep a couple years ago and the upbeat tempo that sounded like two robots fucking won my cold heart right over.

I dig dubstep remixes and this was an especially rad tune - courtesy of Bradley Carter and Christopher Gass who made this DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK dubstep remix.

I f-f-f-f-f-f-f-fucking love it. Thank you so kindly gentlemen for this cool tune and wicked video - it's become a big favourite here.

Forces of Geek has Fun with Dead Hooker

In a really f-cked up way, this is probably the most fun I’ve ever had...” -Geek
I am a geek. I will absolutely admit it, but like animals in the wild, my appearance somewhat disguises my entire nerdism to protect me from predators. Naw, I just like decorating the shit out of things. That said, fellow geeks can recognize their own kind and I believe the most obvious place to see that nerviness would be to watch our work. Forces of Geek was kind enough to take a boo in the trunk and here's what they had to say --

"It plays out almost like a twisted buddy comedy or a road movie made by Ted Bundy and Eli Roth. This is where the macabre humour of the twins feels right at home, with panic, violence and missing limbs the order of the day as the mayhem just gets completely out of control."
Thank you very kindly, Forces of Geek. And --
"Cast-wise, the actors are surprisingly competent."
Fuck yes! Another thank you kindly, Forces of Geek.
"So despite (Or perhaps because of) its unusual title and the fact that it is endorsed by cinema lunatic Eli Roth, Dead Hooker in a Trunk provides fine amounts of intrigue, chasing, panic, plot and enough gratuitous swearing and Grindhouse violence to keep you entertained from start to finish. But what if it doesn’t give you at least some satisfaction, or leaves you wishing it weren’t so shallow?
 Just look at the title."

You can eat up the whole delicious piece here. And a huge thank you to everyone who is checking out the flick, pimping it out to their friends, tuning into the tv screenings, and buying the DVD - you are giving this indie horror a life it could have never known without your support.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts very humbly. People in the horror community are the best on the fucking planet!
